ARES & FRIENDS is a rescue station located in Kaliepetrovo, Silistra, Bulgaria. It was founded by Kremena Ivanova and Teodor Ivanova in 2013, starting with two dogs, Ares and Sarah, on an empty plot of land.
Today, the station has expanded to several sheltered and cozy rooms, accommodating animals in need from Bulgaria, Luxembourg, Germany, and Belgium. They have an official transport permit, but are limited in the number of animals they can accommodate, hence the need for donations to expand the shelter. All animals have a European passport, as well as all exit papers. Anyone who would like to support us is welcome to write to us!
We finance ourselves through donations, which we use to give the animals in Silistra a better life. This includes helping with the construction of the sanctuary, creating new places for street animals, and doing everything to make the life of animals in Bulgaria a little more comfortable and safer. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian before they leave the country. They are vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and neutered (except for puppies) before they leave the country.
